There are also other ways that they have advertised the
movie other than just the trailer. In the underground I've seen numerous posters
of the film. I took pictures of 2. The top one is the first poster I saw.
Thor: The Dark World was released on the 30th of October
2013. The first started to Market Thor by releasing a trailer in March 2013 to
get the audience interested in the movie. Just from the trailer, the movie
began to gain publicity by what could happen in this movie. In the last movie
we're left heartbroken because the two lovers were not able to be together but
in the trailer release, we were able to see that they reunited again. This was
a major factor to the publicity to the film because it captured the viewer’s
interest.
The second one is at another stop which I think was in
Victoria. What I noticed was that the posters were only located on the stops was
there were more people. From this I gathered was a technique that they used to
show the poster to more people than less. The box office was amazing; it's been
called one of the strongest releases of October of all time. It is suggested
that the movie can gross over $75 million during 1 weekend in America.
Thor 2 has its own website which includes multiple things
such as; Merchandise, games for free and which you have to pay, information on
the movie and cast. There are even action figures sold to attract the younger
audience. The movie is associated to the marvel comics so that also had a big
impact in promoting the movie.
